Alexis Bladell, who plays Emily / Offline The Handmaid’s Tale Since the series launched on Hulu in 2017, the upcoming fifth season is coming to an end.
“After much thought, I felt I had to move on from The Handmaids Tale at this point,” Bladele said in a statement on Deadline. “I am forever grateful to Bruce Miller for writing such a true and resonant scene for Emily and for supporting Hulu, MGM, the cast and crew.”
In the fourth season, Jun (Moss) attacks Gilead as a fierce rebel leader, but the risk he takes brings with it unexpected and dangerous new challenges. His quest for justice and revenge threatens to devour him and destroy his most cherished relationship.
Season 5 is expected to premiere later this year.
Bladell has received four Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actress for her lead role, one for each year of her four-year run.
