Ava DuVernay starred in the romantic drama Lands three-year script-to-series; EP

Ava Duverne co-executive producer Lauren Ridolph (Eternal, The Walking Dead) And Joshua Jackson (When they see us, Death Dr.) They set. The news was announced at the Stars’ inaugural #TakeTheLead Summit on Thursday, where Duverne, Ridolph and Jackson spoke about the project.

The still-untitled potential series follows two polar opposites who become involved in a love affair that turns their world – and all around them – upside down.

The half-hour drama will describe what it takes to fall in love with a radical, rebellious person. One person is ambitious, the other is restless. One is ready to be committed, the other debates the merits of the relationship. One black and one white. One is deaf and the other is not. Although wildly different, the two are emotionally and physically attracted to each other despite personal expectations and public assumptions. Their attraction emotionally disrupts the notions of race, gender, class, physical ability and ideal culture, promoting true love that transcends differences.

Ridolf and Jackson had previously starred opposite each other on Broadway The child of a small God.

Katherine Busby, President, Original Programming, Starz, who conducted the Summit conversation with the trio, said, ‚ÄúThere is nothing like this series on TV and we are thrilled to be evolving with Ava, a Trailblazer and the incomparable champion of diversity. Lauren is a true inspiration and with Joshua, a brilliant veteran actor, they will bring their incredible talents to the project – in front of and behind the camera. This series exemplifies our #TakeTheLead mission and we could not be proud. “

DuVernay combines his PBD Award-winning narrative changes with Array Filmworks and Warner Bros. Will oversee the writing of the series through its overall agreement with Television. Array will create the project for Filmworks and Warner Bros. Television Stars. On behalf of Sturge, the series will be overseen by Catherine Taus-Ader, Senior Vice President of Original Programming.

“On behalf of my production partner Paul Garnes and everyone at Array Filmworks, I am thrilled to be developing this passion project with Lauren, Josh and Kat,” said Duvern. “Starz and Warner Bros. Television have immediately pledged a bold production to explore three seasons, and we’re ready to revive and start what I hope will be a beautiful journey for everyone involved.”
