News of the shooting at Rob Elementary School in Uvalade, Texas spread on Tuesday, May 24, sending shockwaves through the country. Salvador Ramos, 18, entered the school in a heavily armed condition and shot 19 students and two teachers, leaving at least 17 injured. According to reports, before coming to school on the day of the shooting, Salvador also attacked his grandmother, who fled to her neighbour’s house to report to police, causing authorities to eventually reach the school and shoot the lone gunman.

Celebrities and politicians alike have expressed their condolences over the tragic incident, and protests against gun violence in the country have resurfaced.

Harry Styles expressed his condolences on his Instagram and announced that he had pledged দ 1 million to stop gun violence in America once and for all. His post read, “With all of you, I am devastated by the recent shootings in the United States.

Styles mentions that he will partner with a non-profit organization called Evertown for Gun Safety for this purpose.
