‘Joy’ returns to streaming with new home on Disney + and Hulu – Deadline

Six months after leaving Netflix, Cheers Coming back to streaming. The popular musical drama will be available on Disney + Disney + and Hulu from June 1, in conjunction with the LGBTQIA + Pride month kick-off.

Disney + and Hulu have jointly announced today, National Streaming Day. (You can see it below)

Joy, Which ran on Fox for the XX season, produced by 20th Television, which became part of Disney as part of the company’s acquisition of Fox Assets. Like other key Disney-owned features that were pre-existing streaming agreements elsewhere, Disney is bringing Cheers To in-house streamers after Netflix contract expires. The same thing happened recently with the Marvel Netflix series, which moved to Disney + and FX. American Horror Story, American Crime Story And Gestures, Which moved from Netflix to Hulu.

Co-produced by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, Cheers Fox premiered in 2009 and the fictional William McKinley followed high school choir members. The main cast includes Leah Mitchell, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, the late Corey Montaith, the late Naya Rivera, Amber Riley, Diana Argon, Chris Kolfer and Heather Morris. The series ended in March 2015, winning four Emmy and two GLAAD media awards.
