‘La Chimera’ neon takes North Americans to Alice Rohrwacher’s Cannes movie –

North American rights landed in neon ears La Chimera, Writer-director Alice Rohrwacher’s tomb-robbery drama starring Josh O’Connor and Isabel Rosellini.

Tumbaroli, or secret world set of tomb robbers in the 1980s, La Chimera A young English archaeologist (O’Connor) tells the story of being caught in the illicit trafficking of antiquities. The film stars Carol Duarte, Alba Rohrwacher and Vincenzo Nemolato, producing in Tarkunia and southern Tuscany, and will run in the summer in central Italy and Switzerland.

Produced by Carlo Cresto-Dina, a regular contributor to Rohrwacher La Chimera Through his company Tempesta and longtime supporter Rai Cinema. It is a co-production of Art Cinema, Canal +, Cine +, RSI / SSR SRG in Switzerland and Ad Vitam Productions in Switzerland in partnership with French distributor Ad Vitam.

Neon’s Jeff Ditchman and Mason Speta have negotiated a deal with The Match Factory and UTA. The Match Factory is also reflecting international sales. Rohrwacher is repp by UTA.

The Cannes Film Festival will run through May 26 in the French Riviera.
