Memorial service held for the office of Christine Ponthiux, Tampa Talent Agency

A memorial service was held Wednesday evening for Christine Ponthiux, office manager of the Tampa-based Benz Model and Talent Agency, who shot herself in the owner’s private office last month after sending an angry letter to some of the agency’s clients.

Called the agency’s April 25 office, Tampa Police found him dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside the office of owner Steve Benz. The door was locked from the inside and had to be opened. Benz was not present when this happened, or he was not present for the memorial.

Her three daughters spoke with love during a celebration of life held at the Wedding Retreat in rural Plant City, FL. Nearby were country music and horses, and a barn glistening with cable lights. “It was really nice,” said one of the invited guests. “She was a country girl and it was a perfect tribute to her. She was really in love. It was a wonderful team that really loved her. She will be 51 in October.

About 50 close friends and family members, including a few in the office and about a dozen actor-clients, fondly remembered him. At the table, they told stories about his life, but there were also questions about his death.

Tampa Police declined to give a police report, saying “the case is still open.” However, there is no indication of foul play.

A message posted on the organization’s website states: ‚ÄúChristine has worked for us for almost 20 years and will be greatly missed. He was an integral part of our success. We will miss him a lot and cherish all the memories. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends. He is at peace. “
