Okieriete Onaodowan to play title role in AMC’s ‘Damascus’ series – Deadline

Station 19 alum Okieriete Onaodowan has been tapped to roll the AMC title Damascus, A comedy sci-fi series by playwright Terence Arwell Chisholm has confirmed the deadline.

UnmaskasTaken in February as part of AMC’s Straight-to-Series development model, the former produced by Executive Breaking bad And Good call Saul EP Mark Johnson, through his Gran Via Productions banner. The AMC Studios-produced series is expected to debut next year in both AMC and AMC +.

Made by Chisholm, Damascus Demascus (Onaodowan), a 33-year-old black man, follows a mission of self-discovery and the growing field of digital psychiatry that may be the key to his true self-definition. The series is a humorous, genre-fluid, epoch-making story with a reality-curved premise that explores the bay in a black male perspective, as well as trying to answer Damascus’ personal question: “Who am I?”

Onaudowan is best known for his five-season run as Dean Miller on ABC Gray’s physiology SpinOff Station 19. He will be seen later in the season 3 on Amazon as a regular series Jack Ryan. He is also known for his role as James Madison in the original Broadway cast Hamilton.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the casting of Onaudowan.
