Stan Lee will appear on Marvel Studio projects through a licensing agreement

Stan Lee will appear in new Marvel Studio projects through a new licensing agreement.

The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively revealed that the late comic book legend Stan Lee will return to Marvel Studios. The 20-year deal between the company and Genius Brands and POW is in question! Entertainment will allow the use of Lee’s name and similes in merchandising among future feature films, television productions, Disney Park attractions, virtual reality experiences and more.

Andy Hayward, chairman and CEO of Genius Brands, issued the following statement in response to the agreement between Marvel Studios and Stan Lee Universe:

“It really does ensure that Stan, through digital technology and archival footage and other forms, will live in the most important venues, Marvel Cinemas and Disney theme parks. It’s a comprehensive deal.”

Stan Lee died on November 12, 2018 and he filmed his final cameo appearance at Marvel Studios Avengers: Endgame, In which he played a 1970s D-Aged driver. Since then, comic book legends have received numerous accolades, but given this new agreement, it has led to numerous questions.

Based on Andy Hayward’s statement, future projects with Marvel will use Stan Lee’s digital technology and archival footage. It may be interesting to see how this can be applied in movies, but here it is to be hoped that it is biologically, rather than some kind of Deepfake-like technology, as was demonstrated by Mark Hamill’s similar entertainment as the young Luke Skywalker.
