Shawn Lewis and Roger Alum star in the series from author Russell Lewis. Season Nine is currently shooting in Oxford.
The series began as a solo film in 2012 to celebrate Morse’s 25th anniversary and ran 33 episodes over nine seasons.
Shawn Evans began his career as a detective constable and later played the young Endeavor Morse as an detective sergeant at Oxford City Police CID. Roger Alam in the role of DCI Fred Thursday, Morse’s advisor.
Season eight will air on PBS Masterpiece in the United States from June 19 to July 3, followed by three more episodes for nine seasons.
