‘The Wheel of Time’ EP Ted Field signs radar photo with Butchwald – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: Radar Pictures-Emmy winner has signed with Butchwald for representation – an independent film and television production company founded by Ted Field, known for working in the Jumanji and Ridic franchises.

Field founded Radar in 1999 and is the company’s chief executive officer. Radar has created more than 60 features so far – including The Amityville Horror, The Last Samurai and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre – which grossed over $ 10 billion worldwide.

Field’s company is also behind Amazon’s epic fantasy television series, The Wheel of Time, based on Robert Jordan’s best-selling book series of the same name, which was renewed for the second season before the series premiered. It is currently working on a film titled Age of Legends, set a few millennia before the book’s time, scripted by Jack Stentz (Thor).

Radar currently controls more than 400 IPs with a growing development pipeline. The company has recently secured the life rights of two-time World Series champion Doyle Brunson, the champion of the Poker Main event, with plans to make a biopic on the legendary player. It has also acquired the rights to the action-adventure video game franchise American McGee’s Alice from publisher Electronic Arts and has teamed up with author-showrunner David Hatter (Watchman) to create a series adaptation.

Radar is currently giving a push to both reality and documentary as well as unscripted television on Broadway. The company is expanding into video games at the same time, recently partnering with LevelN4XT to form the company Radar-N4XT, focusing on creating new IPs for video games and adapting existing game IPs for television and film.
