UEFA said on Monday that it was launching a formal investigation into the incident surrounding fans trying to enter the Stade de France on Saturday to watch the Champions League football final between Real Madrid and Liverpool.
A kickoff of one of Soccer’s most high-profile games, as well as a pregame performance by Grammy-nominated Camilla Cabello, was delayed by more than an hour and a half because fans, mostly from English clubs, had trouble entering the venue. The heart of Paris. The closure of the entrance has forced many ticket holders to wait for three hours for entry.
In the United States, Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, and Micah Richards’ CBS Sports / Paramount + studio team were forced to expand their pregame show because of delays. There were reports of tear gas being used at some point on the outside crowd, who were mainly wearing Liverpool red.
During Cabello’s pregame show, Liverpool fans finally took their seats and tried to make up for lost time, using the singer’s six-minute performance to sing a medal team song of his hits, including his “Havana” and “Senorita”. Real Madrid supporters kind of react.
It asked Cabello, in the now-deleted tweets, to let people know he heard it. “It simply came to our notice then. Like my team and I have worked tirelessly for so long to bring the right vibe and give a good show. ”

UEFA said in a statement today that it had produced an independent report that would “examine the decisions, responsibilities and conduct of all agencies involved in the final.” The results will be made public once they are completed, after which UEFA will evaluate the next steps.
During the delay, which lasted about 35 minutes, UEFA stated that delays in the arrival of fans were among the causes of external problems. Other reports suggest that counterfeit tickets have blocked certain entrances.
In the game, Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr. scored in the middle of the second half to secure a 1-0 victory over favorite Liverpool, which was heading for its third major trophy of the year.
